ARU has recently invested GBP 95 million into its facilities. The university is home to one of the only optometry schools in the country and has its own public art gallery, the Ruskin Gallery. It also boasts a state-of-the-art Science Centre, a Law School Clinic, mock law courts, computer gaming suites and libraries which are open 24/7, complete with books and online learning resources.
The university excels in providing support in a variety of different areas. This includes disability support for those who have mental health conditions, medical conditions and learning difficulties. Dr Acevedo belongs to the Faculty of Business and Law and works with Anglia Learning and Teaching, to help support and professional development for ARU's teaching staff. She is a strong advocate of ''action learning'' and using art in education to empower students. Dr Shaw is the Director of Teaching, Learning and Assessment in the Faculty of Health, Education, Medicine and Social Care. She has a particular interest in technology-enhanced educational methods.

Anglia Ruskin University has invested heavily in the nursing and healthcare facilities in its Chelmsford, Cambridge and Peterborough campuses. Here, students can learn in skills rooms, mock operating theatres and wards. Science students will learn in the ARU Science Centre where they can enjoy the SuperLab complex, which features state-of-the-art science labs, a physiology lab and a pharmaceutical research lab.
Optometry students get to study at the University Eye Clinic with qualified professionals it boasts 16 fully equipped testing rooms and the latest optometric equipment such as an optical coherence tomographer, video slitlamps, and videokeratoscopes.
The university's faculty's all feature state-of-the-art facilities including science SuperLabs, a financial trading room and TV studios, computer gaming suites, law clinics and mock law courts.
As well as dedicated studios for all courses, Cambridge School of Art's facilities include illustration and animation studios, printmaking facilities, a dedicated 3D workshop and photography and video facilities.
For some downtime, all students can enjoy the famous Ruskin Gallery, which holds free exhibitions all year round and make use of the gyms at the Cambridge, Chelmsford and Peterborough campuses.
The library and IT facilities are also second to none: students can access the vast online collection 24/7, and will have access to Office 365, Microsoft Teams and Adobe Photoshop CS6 as standard. Students on creative courses have use of Adobe Creative Cloud software.
Students at ARU London can take advantage of 47 state-of-the-art lecture theatres and seminar rooms, as well as computer labs with brand new IT equipment. Large breakout areas with space for students to work and socialise are also available, furnished with sofas and chairs for a more relaxed environment.
