About the course
Based at the University’s Penryn Campus near Falmouth, we are a unique multidisciplinary department offering a range of specialised programmes, drawing upon our research expertise in mining and minerals engineering, applied geology and mineralogy, surveying and renewable energy. We offer postgraduates an outstanding research environment with state-of-the-art analytical facilities and laboratories and have excellent rates of graduate employment.Superb research facilities include a renewable energy laboratory and wind turbine. Our research is funded by the UK Energy Research Centre, UK Research Councils, UK Government Departments, the European Union and private institutions. We have a leading role in the £15 million PRIMaRE research institute to support the development of marine energy in the South West.offshore renewable energy, including wave analysis, marine hydrodynamics, resource modelling, moorings, testing, reliability engineering, offshore installation, monitoring, operations and maintenance. How to apply
Entry requirements for University of Exeter
For all research degrees you will normally be required to have obtained or expect to obtain a first degree equivalent to at least a UK 2:1 Honours degree. You will need at least a 2:1 or its equivalent in order to be considered by any of the main funding bodies. For some programmes we also consider evidence of relevant personal, professional and educational experience. Where an applicant has taken or is taking, more than one academic qualification that meets our entry requirements, the University reserves the right to make an offer on the most recent academic qualification. IELTS (Academic) - Overall score 6.0. No less than 6.0 in any section. TOEFL IBT* - Overall score 87 with minimum scores of 21 for writing, 21 for listening, 22 for reading and 23 for speaking.
