About the course

The Art and Design Fundamentals program will nurture your artistic talents, and develop your creative, practical and entrepreneurial skills in visual art and design ? whatever your level of expertise.

　　Practicing artists and designers, who will help you to gain competencies in traditional, digital and multimedia, will deliver the studio-based, hands-on Art and Design Fundamentals curriculum. The program's goal is to help you prepare a portfolio of artwork required for admission to specialized programs and to open up new possibilities and career choices in the diverse visual arts industry.

　　In this art program, you'll:

　　Get hands-on exposure to drawing, design, colour, 3D modelling and design, visual culture, video making, digital illustration, photography and rapid prototyping.

　　Build a comprehensive portfolio of artwork while working one-on-one with faculty.

　　Once you complete the program, you'll be prepared to succeed in a variety of post-secondary communication arts and design diploma and degree program areas including animation, game art, digital visual effects, product design, industrial design, architecture, interior design, fashion design, illustration, graphic design, digital media art, art direction, art management, creative advertising and fine arts. How to apply

Entry requirements for Centennial College of Applied Arts and Technology

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent, or mature student status (19 years or older). English Grade 12 C or U, or equivalent (minimum grade required) or Centennial College English Skills Assessment for Admission. IELTS: 6.0 with no band score less than 5.5. TOEFL: 550 Paper based 80+ minimums of 20 for the Internet based test.
