About the course
The Acupuncture diploma program provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to meet the entry-level standards of practice set by the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (CTCMPAO). This program provides in-depth theoretical and clinical components of Acupuncture. Students benefit from expert clinical training that combines integrative healthcare models with Traditional Chinese Medicine, providing graduates with the necessary skills to practice as a regulated healthcare professional. This program includes a clinical placement component where you will gain practical work experience under the supervision of a registered or licensed professional. The first and only program of its kind in the Ontario college system Develop your skills and gain experience in our on-site public clinic. Graduates of the Acupuncture program may be employed as a Registered Acupuncturist (NOC 3232 ? practitioners of natural healing) in fertility clinics, doctors? offices, physiotherapy clinics, naturopathic clinics, massage therapy clinics or chiropractic offices. As well, graduates may open their own clinic space thus becoming self-employed and/or eventually specialize and become involved in one specific area of healthcare such as pain management, dermatology or gynecology. How to apply
Entry requirements for Georgian College
Secondary or high school transcripts with proof of graduation, subjects taken, and grades received
Math and English credits are required at the Grade 12 level.
OSSD or equivalent with
Grade 12 English (C or U)
Grade 11 Biology (C or U), or Grade 12 Biology (U)
Applicants must meet ONE of the following requirements to be granted admission to this program:
OSS Curriculum: OSSD or equivalent with Grade 12 English (C), or (U), (ENG4C, ENG4U), plus Grade 11 C or U Biology or Grade 12 U biology (SBI3U/C, SBI4U). Also recommended: Grade 11 U Chemistry or Grade 12 C or U Chemistry (SCH3U, SCH4C, SCH4U).
Academic and Career Entrance Certificate (ACE) program with: Communications, Biology
Ontario High School Equivalency Certificate (GED) (meets English requirements, not sciences)
Mature applicant with standing in the required courses and/or mature student testing that meets the minimum standards for admission
