About the course

This unique programme offers an opportunity for intensive advanced training in the psychology of individual differences, gaining skills in the two key subdivisions in the study of human individual differences: personality and mental abilities (intelligence), and addressing the questions of how and why people differ from one another psychologically and how these differences matter in their lives.

  Your MSc culminates in a research dissertation in a core research area: an original, publication-quality piece of research, undertaken in collaboration with an academic working on the area of your dissertation topic.

Staff involved in teaching and supervision include internationally recognised researchers from our Individual Differences Research Group whose expertise covers topics such as:

How to apply

Entry requirements for University of Edinburgh

A UK 2:1 honours degree, or its international equivalent, in psychological, biological or social sciences, or any similar subject based on methodological and statistics studies., an undergraduate or masters degree, that was taught and assessed in English in a majority English speaking country as defined by UK Visas and Immigration,

  IELTS: total 7.0 (at least 6.5 in each module)

  TOEFL-iBT: total 100 (at least 23 in each module)
