About the course

Studying the Master of TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) will help you develop your teaching skills.

　　You’ll strengthen your understanding of language learning, explore common challenges that language teachers and learners face, and reflect on your learning and teaching experience.

　　In all these areas, you’ll be guided to make links between teaching practice, research, theory, and the contexts within which people teach and learn languages.

How to apply

Entry requirements for Victoria University of Wellington

A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent qualification) with at least a B average in Linguistics, English Language, Education, or a language other than English. Consideration may be given if you have relevant professional experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree

　　At least two years of professional experience in language education or a related field. Applicants without relevant experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis and may be expected to complete bridging courses.

　　IELTS Academic minimum overall score of 6.5 with no subscore below 6.0

　　TOEFL minimum score of 90 for the internetbased test with a minimum of 20 in writing
