Applicants should hold a graduate degree, ideally a doctorate, from a recognized university and have demonstrated a high level of scholarship in a discipline related to law. Applicants often undertake this degree while on leave from their academic appointment.
MSL students choose their other courses from those available in the JD program, which are posted on-line in the summer. In certain cases, students may enroll in graduate courses within other faculties of the university. The selection of courses is subject to the approval of the Associate Dean of the Graduate Program. We use three sources of information to assess your application: your Law School Admissions Test (LSAT) results, your post-secondary records of academic achievement, and your personal essays.
Students can be accepted through one of two routes: You hold an appropriate master?s degree in statistics from a recognized university with at least a B+ average standing. You hold a bachelor?s degree in statistics from a recognized university with at least an A- average standing
The minimum IELTS score required is an overall score of 7.5, with at least 7 in each component. For the TOEFL the TWE (Test of Written Language) is compulsory. The minimum TOEFL score requirement is 600 with a TWE of 5 on the paper-based scale, and 100 (out of 120) on the internet-based test with a 24 (out of 30) in each component.
