About the course

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics offers a Master's Degree in Statistics in each of the three options discussed below. The requirements listed below are in addition to the University and Graduate School requirements found in the Catalog of the Graduate School. Each student's program of study and committee must be approved by the Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. A student in a Master's program must fill out a degree plan after the end of the first long semester and before the start of their second long semester in the program. How to apply

Entry requirements for Texas Tech University

In order to apply, students should apply directly to the Graduate School for admission to Texas Tech University as a graduate student. Briefly, for all programs in Mathematics and Statistics, this includes submission of a completed application form, non-refundable application fee, and official transcripts for all previous college-level study. In addition, the M.S. and Ph.D. programs require three letters of reference and GRE scores. International students must also submit official TOEFL scores and a bank statement that indicates sufficient funds to cover the student's education and living expenses. Submit these application materials directly to the Graduate School. In addition, the department recommends that unofficial copies of all application materials be sent directly to the Graduate Advisor. The TOEFL score must be received directly from the Educational Testing Service , International English Language Testing Service (IELTS) – The minimum IELTS required score is an overall band score of 6.5 on the Academic version.
