About the course
Public policy is often formulated in the context of political negotiations and organized constituencies. Gaining buy-in, mobilizing support and navigating political and institutional systems are part of any policy-making process. Courses in politics, media, and advocacy equip students with the tools to not only identify effective and inclusive policy interventions but also get them supported and adopted.
Coursework focuses on electoral politics, including how political campaigns are organized and supported around an agenda, organizing methods and strategies for developing issue campaigns, public awareness, engagement, and support, strategies that reflect an understanding and take advantage of government and non-governmental formations, and public education and persuasion. Entry requirements for The New School
Unofficial Transcripts: Applicants must upload an unofficial transcript, mark sheet, or academic record for each institution (even if you didn’t receive a degree) in the Educational Background section of the online application. Official Transcripts: Applicants offered admission will be required to submit official transcripts (as well as official certified translations and evaluations of the transcripts/mark sheets and degree certifications if the degree was earned outside of the United States) to The New School. Admitted applicants must submit all official transcripts pertaining to their entire academic career. Two academic/professional letters of recommendation are required. Resume, Please submit a 750 to 1000-word statement of purpose. Applicants are encouraged to demonstrate their experience writing analytical pieces by providing a writing sample. The minimum score required for TOEFL (IB) is 92, for IELTS is 7.0 , Applicants are required to hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university by the time they enroll.
