About the course
The MSc program in the Department of Physics provides opportunities for students to undertake advanced research in physics. Students will be exposed to fundamental and applied research in both theoretical and experimental physics. Interdisciplinary research is also possible. Through a combination of coursework and a research-based thesis, students will gain skills necessary to pursue PhD research or careers in physics or related disciplines. Students are expected to complete the program requirements in six terms (two years).
The Master’s degree program involves graduate level course work and research leading to a Master’s thesis. With the support of the student’s thesis committee, a student in the Master’s degree program can transfer directly into the Ph.D. program after one year at SFU. Those students who apply with a higher-level degree may be admitted directly into the Ph.D. program. Scholarships - View all scholarships Internships
