About the course

Physics and astronomy attempt to understand and describe how and why the physical universe behaves as it does. Although remarkably simple, physics laws apply to a very wide range of sometimes beautiful and bizarre phenomena, as well as to the past and future of the universe. The Tufts University Department of Physics and Astronomy offers programs of study leading to M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in physics and astronomy. Physics graduate students may also pursue research in related departments, such as electrical engineering. Ability to use advanced mathematics to model, describe and analyze physical phenomena.Deep understanding in fundamental areas of physics, including: Classical Mechanics Electricity and Magnetism Quantum MechanicsAbility to communicate scientific ideas and results effectively, orally, and in writing, to professional colleagues (if completing a master's thesis). Entry requirements for Tufts University

Applicants will be required to upload a copy of transcripts received from each college or university attended where credit was earned toward an undergraduate, graduate or professional degree. Transcripts for study abroad or transfer programs are not required if the course titles, grades, and credit hours are included on the transcript of the degree-granting institution. If the transcript is in a language other than English, please provide an official translation.
