About the course

The Department of Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics offers a graduate program leading to the degree of Master of Science (MS) in Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics. The Master of Science degree is awarded upon the satisfactory completion of a minimum of thirty (30) points of credit of approved graduate study extending over at least two semesters. There is no requirement for an MS thesis, but students have the option to work for a total of up to six (6) points of credit on independent research that can be considered as the equivalent of an MS thesis. The Environmental Engineering and Water Resources concentration is focused on training civil engineers who are interested in engaging in solving the world?s environmental problems and contributing to the sustainable management of global water resources. Entry requirements for Columbia University
