About the course
Chemistry is a diverse discipline, involving substances in every aspect of life ? what we see, eat, smell, touch, and taste every day. With an equal emphasis on theory and practical work, Waterloo's Chemistry undergraduate and graduate programs prepare you for a growing number of dynamic career options. You could be searching for the roots of crippling diseases, developing cancer-fighting drugs, or assessing environmental damage. The academic requirements are the same as in the Regular Thesis Option, but at least two of the required four courses must be completed during the first two terms in the program. Following the second term, the student will spend two terms (eight months) working in an industrial or government laboratory, upon completion of which they must present an acceptable work report. Upon returning to the campus, the student will complete their course work, research, and prepare the M.Sc. thesis. This option is available to domestic students only.
