About the course

The Chemistry program at Iowa State University has a pre-application process. Apply ONLY to Chemistry initially using the departmental online application found on our webpage at www.chem.iastate.edu or above under the Apply Now button. We review your file in house and if you receive an offer of admission and accept, we will pay your application fee to the University.

How to apply

Entry requirements for Iowa State University

Three letters of reference on official letterhead stationery are required from research supervisors, faculty instructors and/or advisors. Once you submit your application, an email will be sent to your recommenders. Indian students must furnish detailed marks sheets for each degree. You can attach an electronic copy (.pdf, .doc, .docx, or .txt) of your official transcripts to the application. Full Admission status may be granted to an applicant who either has achieved a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or greater (on a 4.0 scale). All International graduate students must have at least an 89 on the TOEFL (573 on paper, 6.5 IELTS) to be eligible to apply to our program and to the University.
