A personal statement addressing your preparation for and interest in an LL.M. degree in IP. Consideration will be given to work experience in intellectual property or related business experience, as a student or practitioner, as well as to any obstacles that you have overcome. The personal statement may not be longer than two pages.
A two-page resume should preferably include education and employment on the first page and publications and awards on the second page. Please note that an entry level law degree is required before one may pursue the LL.M. program. In the United States, this degree is the Juris Doctor, or J.D., degree. In many countries outside the U.S., the degree is called the Bachelor of Laws and Letters, or LL.B.
Preferred scores for the TOEFL IBT (internet based test) are a 102 or a 610 for the PBT (paper based test). The preferred score of the IELTS is a 7.5.
Hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university or have met the requirements for the baccalaureate degree which will be awarded prior to the beginning of graduate study

Original transcripts/diplomas or certified true copies from all universities, professional schools, and/or colleges previously attended (or currently attending) must be submitted to The University of Akron's Graduate School. If the institution is not English speaking, the transcripts must also accompany an exact certified English translation. Certified true copies must bear the original stamp and signature of the appropriate school official.
