About the course
Broaden your personal and career horizons whether you're a law or non-law graduate by examining how international law shapes almost all forms of global interaction, from business and trade to diplomacy and acts of war. This degree is suited to anyone who works in an international field (with or without a legal background), or has aspirations of pursuing a career associated with international law anywhere in the world. As a student you'll immerse yourself in four compelling compulsory courses: Principles of International Law, Law of Armed Conflict, Law, Terrorism and Human Rights, and Refugees, Asylum Seekers and the Law: Rights and Realities. You also have a choice of various elective courses covering topics such as business, diplomacy, international policy, advocacy, negotiation and armed conflict. Courses are taught by academics, legal practitioners, judges and international scholars, many of whom have first-hand experience working in some of the world's most dynamic social and economic environments. Entry requirements for The University of Queensland
To enrol in the program, a person must hold a Bachelor degree in law, or Bachelor of arts (or equivalent) with a sequence of study in peace and conflict studies, international relations, political science, sociology, cultural studies, media studies, communication, economics/political economy, anthropology or ethnography, with a GPA of 5.
IELTS: Overall Band Score of 6.5 AND a minimum score of 6 in each sub-band of Writing, Reading, Speaking and Listening. TOEFL (Internet-Based-iBT): Overall score 87 with a Writing score of 21 and Reading, Speaking and Listening scores of 19. TOEFL (Paper-based): Overall score of 570 and a minimum score of 5.0 in the Test of Written English (TWE) and 54 in Listening and Reading.
