About the course

The Master of Global Health recognises the connection between health and threats to health around the world. Our teaching and international field placement opportunities will prepare graduates to redress the inequitable distribution of health and health resources, and improve health globally.

　　The course is designed for graduates who have either a medical or health background, or graduates from other fields who are passionate about equity, and engaging in activities which support and improve health and well-being throughout the life course and across the globe.

　　The Master of Global Health is a postgraduate coursework degree that will prepare you with the skills and knowledge to enable you to work in public and global health roles. You will learn about the connection between health and threats to health around the world, and will be prepared to redress the inequitable distribution of health and health resources, to ultimately improve health globally.

　　You will complete core units covering foundational concepts in global health, biostatistics, and epidemiology, and also selective units from a number of global health subject areas, in addition to elective units in public health. How to apply

Entry requirements for The University of Sydney

To be eligible for admission, an applicant is required to have:

　　an Australian bachelor's degree with honours or a graduate diploma or a graduate certificate or an equivalent qualification or

　　an Australian bachelor's degree in a relevant field (eg. medicine and health fields such as dentistry, nursing, optometry, pharmacy, physiotherapy or science, mathematics, veterinary science, or humanities and social sciences fields such as international relations, international development, economics, political science, communication and journalism, or education, or civil engineering, or law) or equivalent qualification or

　　an Australian bachelor's degree in an unrelated field and two years professional work experience in health or international development.

　　TOEFL-IBT- A minimum result of 85 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing

　　IELTS score- A minimum result of 6.5 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band

　　TOEFL - PBT score-A minimum result of 565 overall including a minimum result of 4.5 in Writing
