Welcome to the Vanderbilt Master of Genetic Counseling (MGC) program. We?re thrilled to guide you on the journey towards your unique genetic counseling calling.

  From our innovative curriculum to irreplicable community, our full-time, five-semester MS program will equip you to work on the forefront of genetics for years to come.

How to apply

Entry requirements for Vanderbilt University

Successful completion of a four-year baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution with coursework in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, general or human genetics, statistics, and psychology.The minimum acceptable score on the paper-based TOEFL is 570, and for the Internet-based test, 88. Many programs, however, require a considerably higher level of proficiency.

  For IELTS, the minimum acceptable score will vary by program. In many cases, a score of at least 7.0 is desirable.
