About the course

This interdisciplinary track prepares students for positions requiring an ability to integrate natural science into policy development and implementation affecting ecosystems, landscapes, land use and development, environmental regulation of industry, and conservation of biological diversity or environmental quality. Students take coursework in social sciences, such as policy and economics, and natural sciences such as geology, hydrology, soil science, conservation ecology, remote sensing, or spatial analysis. How to apply

Entry requirements for University of Rhode Island

Before you apply to a URI graduate program, you must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in the United States or the equivalent of a four-year degree at an international university that is evaluated by an approved agency. Most four-year degrees from accredited non-U.S. institutions are recognized as equivalent, but three-year bachelor’s degree programs from universities in India and some other Asian countries are not. An overall score of 80 or above, Minimum scores in the following areas: Reading: 20, Writing: 22, Listening: 17, Speaking: 17 (the suggested minimum speaking score for international teaching assistants is 23). The minimum score on the Paper-based TOEFL is 550. IELTS: Required minimum score of 6.5. A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better in the undergraduate career that can be confirmed with official transcripts from the institution (some programs may require a higher or lower GPA).
