About the course

Illinois Tech?s Master of Engineering in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering is a course-only, professionally oriented degree program aimed at broadening student potential, enhancing technical versatility, and in some instances providing the opportunity for changes in career path. Each student will have the opportunity to develop a program that reflects their professional goals and interests in consultation with an adviser from the Department of Mechanical, Materials, and Aerospace Engineering.

　　Our Energy/Environment/Economics (E3) specialization provides further focus in a specialized area of energy extraction, conversion, or utilization, and a broad knowledge base about different energy sources, environmental issues related to energy extraction, conversion, and utilization, and the impact of industrial ecology principles on the design and operation of energy systems.
