About the course

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) is designed for students who seek to acquire specific management skills and knowledge appropriate for the maritime industry. The course equips students with a high level of understanding of the maritime industry and provides the foundation for graduates to undertake middle and senior management positions.The maritime industry is at the forefront of international trade for sustainable development and is an exciting, dynamic, and challenging industry in which to work. The MBA course provides a unique educational experience with a focus on an applied approach to the maritime industry, centered on strategic and analytical thinking. The MBA provides industry focused learning outcomes by applying business principles such as management and finance to the maritime industry, and a strategic perspective to international issues relating to maritime management. The MBA aims to produce inter-culturally competent graduates who are able to contribute substantially to the sustainability of the maritime industry in senior decision-making roles. How to apply

Entry requirements for University of Tasmania (UTAS)

For entry into the MBA (International), students must meet the following criteria:

　　Completed undergraduate degree of an Australian higher education institution or the equivalent standard in any other institution, or

　　Completion of the Graduate Certificate of Business Studies at the University of Tasmania, or an equivalent qualifying Graduate Certificate#, or

　　Completion of an AQF Level 6 qualification and a minimum of three (3) years senior managerial experience.

　　#a qualifying Graduate Certificate is any Graduate Certificate from an Australian higher education institution, or the equivalent from any other institution.

　　International students must provide one of the following:

　　UTASAccess Level 7 with a minimum overall score of 65% and no individual skill below 60%, or

　　an IELTS score with an overall Band of 6.5 and no band less than 6, or

　　a TOEFL (iBT) overall score of 88 (no individual skill must be lower than: Reading 16, Listening 16, Speaking 18, and, Writing 22) or

　　provide evidence that you have studied for 2 years full-time with English as the sole medium of instruction and examination.

　　These tests must not be more than 24 months old.
