About the course

Graduates with the Master of Arts in Music degree have advanced knowledge of music history and literature, and music theory, are proficient, reflective and independent practitioners of music through the areas of performance, improvisation, composition, analysis, scholarship and/or music education, exercise professional standards of written and oral communication through research projects and presentations, demonstrate leadership through successful collaborative experiences, academically and in performance, and apply global perspectives and current trends to their acquired knowledge and skills in their professional work and career development. The M.A. in Music is designed to produce graduates who: have advanced and proficient knowledge of music history, literature and theory, are advanced, reflective and independent practitioners of music through performance/improvisation, composition and analysis, are scholars who exercise professional standards of oral and written communication through research documents and oral presentations, demonstrate leadership through successful collaborative experiences, academically and in performance, and apply global perspectives and current trends to their acquired knowledge and skills in performance/improvisation, composition, education and career development. How to apply

Entry requirements for California State University - Fullerton

Have an official transcript from each university, college, and/or community college you have attended . If your native language is not English and you have not completed a bachelor’s degree at an English-speaking institution, also have your TOEFL score of 560/83 or higher. Please note that GRE scores are not needed and that CSUF alumni do not need to send CSUF transcripts. Above average class standing at an internationally accredited college or university: the equivalent of at least a 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale is recommended. IELTS: 7.0
