About the course

There are many different ways to engage in graduate study in History at Colorado State University. The two main specializations are Liberal Arts and Public History. Within those specializations, there are several plans to meet different students' needs. This is especially appropriate for students desiring employment in secondary education or who do not wish to pursue further advanced degrees. This program requires a minimum of 33 credits, emphasizing area and/or topical historical study offered in seminars. Entry requirements for Colorado State University

Statement of purpose. At a minimum, your statement should indicate why you want to study at CSU. Tell us your career goals and how your academic studies and life experience have prepared you for graduate study. For example, let us know about relevant internships, work experience, projects, or publications that have prepared you for study at CSU. The statement should also indicate with which faculty members you would like to study and why you want to study with them.

　　Three references/letters of recommendation. These should come from people familiar with your work. At least two must come from academic faculty.

　　Academic writing sample, such as a History research paper, that features the best writing of which you are capable

　　A C.V. You will want to include your education, relevant work experience, internships, awards, honors, publications, presentations, etc.

　　Official transcripts. Contact your previous institutions to request they submit official transcripts to Colorado State University (use institution code 4075).

　　Test scores. You will need to complete the general test of the GRE. Contact the testing agency to request that scores be sent to Colorado State University (use institution code 4075).

　　Official transcripts or mark sheets and any certificates, diplomas, or degrees from each college or university attended is required regardless of the length of attendance, including courses in progress.

　　A minimum of three (3) letters of recommendation are required from previous instructors or employers who are able to comment on your abilities and potential for graduate study.

　　TOEFL score for admission without condition is 550 (paper based), or 80 (internet based). IELTS score for admission without condition is 6.5.
