About the course
Our Law and Society (Legal Research) LLM is ideal preparation for a PhD. It will give you the knowledge, insights and analytical skills to proceed to a career in academia or the public, voluntary or private sectors. This LLM Law can be taken as a standalone course before undertaking PhD study. It also forms the initial training component for the four-year (LLM plus PhD) ESRC Northern Ireland/ North East (NINE) Doctoral Training Centre. This Master of Laws is ideal if you want to gain advanced research skills that will allow you to progress to PhD level study in the field of law and society. How to apply
Entry requirements for Newcastle University
A 2:1 honours degree, or international equivalent, in law or any other subject.
IELTS 7.0 overall (with a minimum of 6.5 in writing, and 6.0 in all other sub-skills).
TOEFL 100 overall (with a minimum of 19 in listening, 20 in reading, 22 in speaking, and 22 in writing).
