Our LLM Criminal Law and Criminal Justice programme provides a holistic analysis of the criminal process through an analysis of the law, its philosophical underpinnings and its operation in practice.
This programme is ideal for those looking to attain a broad overview of criminal justice processes, or those wishing to gain in-depth understanding of criminal law and criminal justice, you can specialise in particular aspects as diverse as conceptualising theories, policing, health aspects of criminal justice or indeed international aspects of law enforcement co-operation. Entry requirements for University of Birmingham
Applicants should have a good Honours degree in law, or a degree in another discipline augmented with a pass in the Common Professional Examination. TOEFL - 95 overall with no less than 22 in any band ,IELTS: 7.0 with no less than 6.5 in any band , University of Birmingham graduates do not need to provide transcripts or copies of degree certificates, however we advise applicants who graduated prior to 2000 to provide copies of their qualifications as they may take longer to verify. Personal statement, approximately 5000 characters, explaining why you are interested in studying on your chosen programme. This can be uploaded to the personal statement section in PDF or Microsoft Word format. Alternatively, you can type this within the application portal. On your application, you will be asked to supply contact details of two academic referees (or one academic reference if applicable to the course/programme appled for). Employment references may be acceptable for certain courses which require them.
