Durham Law School is a world leader in legal education and research. Our top-ranking LLB forms the first stage of the professional training you need to qualify as a solicitor or a barrister.

It offers a variety of optional modules which allows individual specialisation across a range of pathways in public and private law, including international law.

　　You can also apply to add an international dimension to your LLB with a year abroad in one of our overseas partner institutions. Places on these pathways are in high demand and if you are chosen your studies will extend from three years to four.

How to apply

Entry requirements for Durham University

University Minimum Levels for English Language Entry and Accepted English Language Proficiency Tests- IELTS: 7.0 (no component under 6.5)*, TOEFL iBT (internet based test): 102 (no component under 25)

　　Completion of the Law National Aptitude Test (LNAT) is required.

　　A level offer – A*AA.

　　BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma/OCR Cambridge Technical Extended Diploma – D*DD.

　　IB Diploma score – 38 with 666 in higher level subjects.

　　In addition to satisfying the University’s general entry requirements, please note:

　　We welcome applications from those with other qualifications equivalent to our standard entry requirements and from mature students with non-standard qualifications or who may have had a break in their studies. Please contact the Law School for further information.

　　Mature applicants are invited to send a copy of their curriculum vitae to the Law School Admissions Secretary for advice before submitting a formal application through UCAS.

　　If you do not satisfy our general entry requirements, the Foundation Programme offers multidisciplinary degrees to prepare you for a range of specified degree courses.
