About the course

Patent law is a specialized area of law which is a subset of intellectual property law. An attorney must have a science background such as a degree in engineering, biology, chemistry or physics to become a registered patent attorney. Only registered patent attorneys can represent inventors seeking patents. Registration requires passing a special exam commonly called the Patent Bar Exam . Entry requirements for Suffolk University

Applicants are required to submit an updated resume with their application. Upload your resume as part of the LSAC application to Suffolk Law School. Suffolk Law requires at least two ? but accepts up to three ? letters of recommendation.Suffolk University Law School will accept scores from either the TOEFL or the IELTS for evaluation of English fluency. Applicants taking the TOEFL must submit a score of:

　　600 paper format,

　　250 CBT format, or,

　　100 on the new IBT format

　　Applicants taking the IELTS exam must score 6.5 or higher.

　　Applicants are required to take either the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) or the Graduate Record Exam (GRE). You'll need to submit all college and graduate school transcripts and at least one letter of recommendation through LSAC's Credential Assembly Service (CAS).
