Politics and the law meet at an increasingly busy intersection. A strong navigator is on track for a career in the public policy sector or a law practice involving government agencies. The JD/MA dual-degree program offered by the School of Law and the Department of Political Science gives you the opportunity to combine the study of law with an exploration of the political context within which legal systems operate. Entry requirements for Loyola University of Chicago

Acceptance is based on a consideration of the following:

  Undergraduate academic record (applicant must provide all college transcripts)

  Two letters of recommendation

  A statement of purpose, not to exceed two double-spaced pages, describing academic interests and professional goals An applicant for admission must ordinarily hold (or receive prior to matriculation) a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. In addition, because academic qualifications are of major importance, the applicant ordinarily must have achieved a grade point average of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. If you have non-U.S. educational credentials, you are required to submit your official education credentials (e.g., transcripts, mark sheets, degree certificates, graduation diplomas) and evaluation fee directly to any NACES member companies.

  For the TOEFL, a minimum score of 79 on the iBT

  For the IELTS, a minimum score of 6.0 is required.
