About the course
Suffolk Law's Trial Advocacy program was ranked 20th in the nation by U.S. News & World Report's 2021 Best Law Schools, the fifth year in a row that it has been ranked in the top 20. In the Trial and Appellate Advocacy Concentration, you?ll learn from experts with years of experience as judges and litigators. A solid foundation prepares you for a career as a trial attorney in the public or private sector. The concentration offers: A comprehensive curriculum in civil and criminal procedure, evidence, advocacy skills, alternative dispute resolution, and legal research and writing Ten nationally ranked practice clinics in which students can represent clients in court, plus additional transactional clinics Externships with law firms, judges, government and non-government agencies coupled with a seminar on reflective lawyering Participation in small Trial Advocacy classes synchronized with the Evidence course Champion Moot Court and National Trial teams Suffolk Journal of Trial and Appellate Advocacy The requirements for the Concentration are rigorous, and those students who take the challenge will be among the best-trained law school graduates in the courtroom. The curriculum includes five required core courses and participation in a clinical program or supervised externship approved by the faculty director. Students must also choose three electives from an extensive menu of litigation related courses in various areas of substantive law. The core courses provide general litigation skills and the externship or clinical experience gives students the opportunity to apply classroom learning in the real world with clients. How to apply
Entry requirements for Suffolk University - INTO USA
Suffolk University Law School will accept scores from either the TOEFL or the IELTS for evaluation of English fluency. Applicants taking the TOEFL must submit a score of: 600 paper format, 250 CBT format, or, 100 on the new IBT format Applicants taking the IELTS exam must score 6.5 or higher. You'll need to submit all college and graduate school transcripts and at least one letter of recommendation through LSAC's Credential Assembly Service (CAS). You must register for this service separately. Applicants are required to submit an updated resume with their application. Upload your resume as part of the LSAC.org application to Suffolk Law School. Any gaps in employment or education should be noted and explained in a separate addendum submitted with the personal statement. Upload your personal statement (essay) Graduate Record Exam (GRE).
