About the course

ntellectual Property (IP) is one of the most dynamic and fastest growing areas of legal practice and represents roughly 20 percent of the American economy. Technology and social media are enabling the rapid distribution of content to millions of mobile phones, laptops and tablets across the globe, with new legal questions surfacing every day. Every lawyer, from the solo practitioner to in-house counsel to transactional and litigation lawyers in large firms, will increasingly be faced with IP issues. Students with an IP concentration will be prepared for the ?knowledge? economy of the 21st century.

　　Some of the courses for the IP Concentration may also qualify for other Concentrations (e.g., Entertainment & Media Law, Business Law). While students may seek designation in two distinct Concentrations upon meeting the qualifications for each, a separate experiential requirement must be satisfied for each. How to apply

Entry requirements for Loyola Marymount University

In order to apply for admission as a first year student to the JD program, you must have completed at least 90 semester units from an accredited undergraduate institution and expect to graduate and receive a bachelor's degree before the start of Orientation (typically in August). Final transcripts confirming conferral of all undergraduate degrees and advanced degrees must be submitted prior to the beginning of classes in the fall. A personal statement is required and assists the Admissions Committee in selecting a highly-qualified and diverse entering class. Only one letter of recommendation is required but we will accept an additional letter for a total of two per application. Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a resume, The minimum TOEFL score for admission into most graduate programs is 100 internet-based (IELTS Overall Band Score of 7) Minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) required for admission is 3.0.
