About the course
The Business Law area of concentration provides students with the background necessary to succeed as business lawyers in the global financial world. UC Davis law graduates with a Business Law concentration work in law firms, corporations, consulting and accounting companies, and nonprofit organizations throughout the world.
As globalization of the world economy continues, business is increasingly international in scope. The UC Davis Business Law curriculum, with classes ranging from Business Associations to Securities Regulation to Taxation, ensures graduates have the skills required to succeed in this rapidly changing environment. King Hall students also enjoy the unique opportunity to pursue a joint degree with the highly regarded UC Davis Graduate School of Management.
Business law students begin by learning the fundamentals, including business associations and federal income taxation. They can then select from a wide range of advanced courses in securities regulation, corporate and partnership taxation, finance, antitrust, corporate governance, bankruptcy, and commercial law. How to apply
Entry requirements for University of California - Davis
Applicants for admission to the professional curriculum of the School of Law, leading to the degree of Juris Doctor, must evidence a record of sufficiently high caliber to qualify for the study of law. A bachelor's degree, or an equivalent degree from a college or university of approved standing, must have been earned prior to the time the applicant begins work in the school. Letters of Recommendation (minimum of two, no more than three) from individuals who know the applicant well and are not related to him/her. All letters must be submitted through LSAC, and evaluations are not considered. Official Transcript(s) from all institutions attended. Minimum requirements for the TOEFL score are 600 on the paper version of the exam, 250 on the computerized version, and 100 on the Internet Based Test. A minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) from the institution where you have earned or will earn your bachelor's degree.
