About the course
Most of our projects overlap multiple disciplines and sub-disciplines and address important societal issues. Members currently span the Departments of Economics, Political Science, Social Policy and Sociology and the Centre for Health Economics. Political economy of institutions, the quality and size of government, fiscal policies, trade, inequality, elections, crime, conflict, and collective action.
We investigate these topics in both contemporaneous as well as historic settings.

How to apply
Entry requirements for University of York
Applicants to the iPhD in Economics are usually required to hold a Bachelors degree in Economics with a 2:1 or 1st class honours (or overseas equivalent), and an MSc in Economics or a ly related discipline, with a high average mark (60% or above, including at least 60% in the dissertation component).
IELTS - 6.5, with no less than 6.0 in each component
TOEFL - 87, with no less than 21 in each component
