About the course

The Graduate Diploma in Art Curating will provide you with a rich combination of core academic skills, historical knowledge, critical insight and community-engaged experience.

　　This qualification is designed for students looking for a career or professional development in art institutions of all types.

　　Graduates will possess a strong foundation in the history of art museums and their cultural impact, and an awareness of the changing nature and role of curators in society and the current challenges they face.

　　Taught partly at Sydney College of the Arts, you will have access to our gallery spaces, art studios, practical expertise and shared postgraduate culture. How to apply

Entry requirements for The University of Sydney

Admission to candidature for the Graduate Diploma in Art Curating requires:

　　a bachelor's degree with a major in Anthropology, Archaeology, Art History, Cultural Geography, Cultural Studies, Education, English, Gender Studies, History, Indigenous Studies or related field and a minimum 60% average calculated over the whole degree, from the University of Sydney, or an equivalent qualification, or

　　completion of the Graduate Certificate in Art Curating with a minimum credit (65%) average, or an equivalent qualification.

　　You can progress from the Graduate Certificate to a Graduate Diploma or Masters, or from a Graduate Diploma to Masters in the same subject area, after successful completion of the shorter course.

　　IELTS score A minimum result of 7.0 overall and a minimum result of 6.0 in each band

　　Toefl Pbt A minimum result of 592 overall including a minimum result of 4.5 in Writing

　　Toefl ibt A minimum result of 96 overall including a minimum result of 17 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 19 in Writing
