About the course

The Department of Physical Therapy offers a professional entry-level program leading to the Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. Students applying to the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program must have earned a baccalaureate degree and must have completed all prerequisite courses prior to program admission. How to apply

Entry requirements for Western Michigan University

Minimum 3.0 GPA from the most recent 60 credits of coursework.

　　Graduate Record Examination (GRE General Test, taken within five years prior to the application deadline) – Submit official scores using WMU code: 1902.

　　All prerequisites must be passed with a C or better, with an overall average of a B or better. These include:

　　General Biology course with lab (must include the human element)

　　Human Anatomy

　　Human Physiology *

　　General Chemistry I & lab

　　General Chemistry II & lab

　　General Physics I & lab

　　General Physics II & lab

　　Statistics

　　At least two courses in behavioral sciences (psychology, sociology, anthropology, etc.)

　　Three letters of recommendation:

　　One academic (professor/instructor)

　　One professional (ideally, a clinician where you worked/volunteered/shadowed)

　　One additional letter from either an academic or professional reference

　　Professional statement.
