About the course

This group takes an interdisciplinary approach to the interrelated issues of nutrition, medicine and disease, and environmental sustainability. Blending history and sociology, researchers in this cluster offer perspectives into grand global challenges such as the provision of food and the control of epidemics, while also examining events on the ground affecting individuals. Collectively, they illuminate how cultural norms and practices and social and political institutions shape both our perceptions of health and welfare and our approaches to them, with deep ramifications for individuals and profound implications for social justice. Entry requirements for Georgia Institute of Technology

Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores, College Transcripts, Three (3) letters of recommendation, A biographical statement, Writing Sample. Evidence of award of a bachelor's degree, its equivalent, or higher degree (prior to matriculation) from a regionally accredited institution, demonstrated academic excellence, and evidence of experience in the selected field of graduate study. The required minimum total score on the exams are: The internet-based TOEFL exam = 90, with minimum section scores of 19 or higher on each skill area, The paper-based TOEFL exam = 577, IELTS exam - Overall score minimum of 7, with minimum section scores for reading 6.5, listening 6.5, speaking 6.5 and writing 5.5.
