About the course

Earth science is integral to the energy industry. Our department trains many students for employment in exploration geology and geophysics, particularly for petroleum exploration and extraction. We have a strong program in exploration seismology with research and teaching in method development, data processing, and data interpretation. We try to wed geophysical methods with fundamental concepts in sequence stratigraphy, surface processes, and the physics of fluid flow. Entry requirements for Rice University
