About the course

Undergraduate students work with faculty on projects related to chemical education. Research in chemical education at Brown includes developing inquiry-based laboratory experiments for introductory, organic, and inorganic chemistry, small-group, interactive problem sessions for concept mastery in introductory courses, and incorporating green chemistry into experiments.Brown is committed to student-centered learning. In our graduate program, Ph.D. candidates choose research groups and elective courses based on their individual goals and interests, graduating ready for successful careers in today's changing world. Innovative research in our department laboratories seeks to answer critical questions in molecular behavior and reaction dynamics, the interface of chemistry and human health, and renewable energy and sustainability. How to apply

Entry requirements for Brown University

Chemistry graduate students are admitted to candidacy for the PhD once they have completed successfully the formal departmental requirements summarized above. Following admission to candidacy, students must advance their research, prepare, submit and defend their PhD thesis and professionally perform all assigned teaching responsibilities.

　　B.S. degree in chemistry or equivalent.

　　GRE General: Required

　　GRE Subject: Chemistry or Biochemistry recommended

　　All international applicants whose native language is not English must submit an official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score. The minimum score for admission consideration is 577 on the paper-based test and 90 on the Internet-based test. For IELTS, the recommended minimum overall band score is 7.
