About the course

The Ph.D. in Chemistry degree exposes students to various methods and techniques for research. The department maintains instrumentation enabling atomic, molecular, cellular, and small animal studies. tevens? interdisciplinary chemical biology doctoral program trains students to investigate biological problems, use advanced statistical methods and interpret the kinetic parameters of biological reactions. You?ll also work alongside expert faculty to conduct independent research in areas like cell and molecular biology, physiology, organic chemistry and computational chemistry. Our graduates are well-prepared for careers in academia as well as industry and medicine, and they assume roles such as research scientist, pharmaceutical chemist and materials scientist.

　　The Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology offers dynamic opportunities to explore leading-edge research within a community of faculty mentors. To complete the course requirements for the Master's and Ph.D. degree, a student will choose technical electives from the list of available courses as specified above for the Master's in Chemistry and Chemical Biology. The technical electives can be applied to a certificate program such as Drug Discovery or Analytical Chemistry. Students can take electives within a concentration ? How to apply

Entry requirements for Stevens Institute of Technology

TOEFL iBT: 86 and above, TOEFL PBT: 567 and above, IELTS: 7 and above.

　　Admission to the Ph.D. program in chemistry requires an undergraduate preparation that includes organic chemistry (1 year), physical chemistry (1 year), analytical chemistry (1 year, including instrumental analysis) and other advanced chemistry courses, as well as adequate preparation in physics and calculus. A prior master's degree in chemistry, biology, chemical biology, chemical engineering or biomedical engineering is preferred
