About the course

The programs of the Department will prepare you to understand, investigate and apply the principles of chemistry to a wide variety of careers from the study of the environment, to solving criminal cases, to working in a chemically related business, to using chemistry to understand biological systems and processes, to preparing for a career as a research chemist. How to apply

Entry requirements for Southern Illinois University - Carbondale

GPA REQUIREMENTS:

　　Master's Program 2.70 or higher GPA

　　Doctoral Program 3.00 or higher GPA

　　3 recommendations-submitted on-line with the Graduate School application.

　　An applicant was awarded a Master's degree at an accredited college/university in the United States and has been in residence in the United States continuously prior to application to SIU (not out of the country for more than one calendar year).

　　You have a minimum of 60 graded (A, B, C) hours of recent coursework completed at an accredited college / university in the United States with continuous residence in the United States prior to application at SIU. Pass / Fail, Satisfactory / Unsatisfactory, or Proficiency credit is not acceptable.

　　550 on the paper-based TOEFL

　　80 on the internet-based TOEFL
