The Production and Marketing Economics field focuses on the nature of economic organizations and how they behave under different market and regulatory conditions. Topics include: the characterization of production and cost relationships, decision theory, organizational design, asset valuation and investment decisions, factor and product market structure, and the impacts of policies and institutions on resource allocation decisions and economic performance. Entry requirements for University of Minnesota - Twin Cities
A relevant master’s degree or an especially strong undergraduate record is required for admission to the Ph.D. program. Please be sure to include relevant coursework on the course history form. A grade point average of at least 3.0 (B average) for both graduate and undergraduate coursework is expected. If you are unsure whether you should apply to the master's or the PhD.
Applicants to the Ph.D. program should have completed the coursework listed above for entrance to the M.S. program. In addition, applicants should have completed:
micro and macro economic theory at the M.S. level
econometrics or mathematical statistics at the M.S. level
multivariate calculus, linear algebra and differential equations
International applicants must submit score(s) from one of the following tests:
