About the course

Indiana Law’s SJD is for international law graduates who already hold an LLM degree and have demonstrated exceptional academic legal writing, analysis, and research abilities. SJD students typically aspire to careers in teaching law. As one of the nation’s first law schools, the Maurer School of Law has been educating leaders of the bar, bench, government and private sector all over the country and around the world for more than 175 years. How to apply

Entry requirements for Indiana University - Bloomington

LSAT score and transcript analysis from the Law School Admission Council’s Credential Assembly Service (CAS) (The LSAT, while welcomed, is not required for advanced standing JD applicants.)

　　Two letters of recommendation that speak to your potential success as a law student and as a member of the legal profession

　　A 2-3 page personal statement that provides insight about you, describes your motivation to attend law school, and/or highlights your interest in Indiana University Maurer School of Law.

　　A resume which outlines your professional and volunteer experience, academic accomplishments, and other pertinent aspects of your background. SJD applicants, even with US LLM degrees, must demonstrate fluency in English via a TOEFL score of 100 IBT or an IELTS score of at least 7.5
