About the course

Imagine a world without machines. We would have less of everything … clothes, gadgets, you name it In the manufacturing industry, a mechanical technician produces parts for a product using a variety of automated machining tools.

　　Working in the College’s manufacturing and machining facilities on modern, industry-standard equipment, you’ll develop the hands-on skills and problem-solving and data analysis ability to be a valuable member of maintenance and production crews in any type of industry.

　　In the hands-on lab classes, you will set up and program Computer Numerical Control (CNC) equipment to manufacture components from concept to finished product, including using CAD and CAM systems to create detailed drawings and develop tool paths required to complete the machining process. Entry requirements for Cambrian College

For graduates of the new curriculum (OSS): Ontario Secondary School Diploma (30 credits) or equivalent or mature student status, including:

　　Any grade 12 English (C), (U), or (M)

　　Any grade 11 mathematics (C), (U), or (M)
