About the course

Study physics to gain a broad knowledge base and a problem-solving skill set that is in demand across a variety of exciting industries. Physics is the study of matter and energy and how they interact. Students seeking a Bachelor of Science in Physics study topics such as computational physics, electricity and magnetism, quantum theory and scientific computing. They also gain expertise in calculus and other advanced math courses to develop critical thinking and reasoning skills they can apply to their physics courses and future careers. Entry requirements for University of Arizona

　　Prospective first-year students must:

　　Have a 3.00 recalculated grade point average (GPA) (a B or better where A=4.00) from a secondary school. Please note: GPA recalculation occurs during the admissions evaluation process and is based on grades from courses outlined in our competency requirements below.

　　Have three years of high school work. Please note: If you are currently in high school, UA needs to see 9–11 grade work. If you have completed high school then UA needs to see 10–12 grade work.

　　Have and present a completed high school diploma or certificate.
