About the course

This concentration within the B.S. in Education is designed primarily for individuals seeking teacher certification in grades four to eight. Students may choose certification in English Language Arts, Social Studies, Science or Math. Students should consult with an advisor in the college to determine which degree plan best suits their career aspirations. Degree plans leading to the different certificates will include subject area coursework and a sequence of four semesters of professional education courses (including two student teaching semesters). All courses include field experiences scheduled outside of class time. Due to the nature of the program and state requirements, the start and end schedule may vary from the university schedule. Entry requirements for Texas Tech University

　　Students may submit unofficial transcripts through RaiderConnect to be used for evaluation and admission purposes only. Students are required to submit official documentation before the start of their first semester to avoid registration holds.

　　Official SAT and/or ACT Scores (Test scores sent from the high school are considered official if they are included on the transcript or sent from the school registrar.)

　　IELTS - minimum required score is an overall band score of 6.5 on the Academic version.

　　TOEFL iBT - minimum score required is 79.
