About the course
Criminal Justice is a multidisciplinary approach to the scientific study of the causes, consequences and prevention of crime and its social control, with a particular interest in promoting social justice. As a criminal justice student, you will develop an understanding of the interconnections between crime, justice, human behavior, social environments and governmental policy. Our students graduate from Clemson prepared for graduate study, law school or careers in a range of criminal justice, social service and human service professions. Both a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice are offered, and you?ll choose between pursuing either a general concentration or a leadership concentration. The core curriculum focuses on classes in sociology and criminal justice which will provide you with a social science foundation as applied to understanding issues concerning the causes and consequences of crime and efforts to control crime, including public policies and programs. At least nine hours of your coursework will be social justice courses, which will help you understand the importance of issues of ethics and diversity in the field of criminal justice. Additional courses will allow you to explore such topics as juvenile delinquency, criminal evidence, computer crime, social class and poverty, and globalization and social change. Entry requirements for Clemson University
Application form with an application-processing fee, drawn from either a U.S. bank or a U.S. dollar account.
Scores from the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) or American College Testing (ACT).
Official TOEFL or IELTS scores. English proficiency is measured through the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS).

Note: Transfer applicants attending U.S. institutions who have passed English composition courses I and II that are equivalent to Clemson University's ENGL 1030 with a grade of B or better are exempt from the TOEFL/IELTS requirement. The test can also be waived for students from countries where English is the primary language or one of the official languages.
