About the course

This option includes coursework in animal nutrition, anatomy and physiology, behavior, and disease in both large and small animals. Graduates find employment in zoos, aquariums, pharmaceutical companies, pet food companies, federal, state, and local opportunities dealing with disease control and public health, and in teaching and research or as veterinary technicians. Animal and veterinary sciences play a vital role in the management and care of livestock, companion animals as well as those animals maintained at zoos and aquariums and laboratory animal facilities. These fields of study inform our choices of general animal care based on best practices of caring for and managing animals in the areas of welfare, health, behavior, housing, nutrition and reproduction. How to apply

Entry requirements for University of Rhode Island

Submit secondary school documents including results and certificates of completion from national secondary school examinations (if applicable). Scans/copies of original academic documents are accepted for admission purposes. Submit TOEFL/IELTS scores. You may submit a copy of your official scores. TOEFL iBT: minimum score of 79 (Pharm.D. applicants 100) IELTS: minimum score of 6.5 (Pharm.D. applicants 7.0). Applicants who have attended a secondary school or post-secondary school where the language of instruction is English may be exempt from submitting an English proficiency examination depending upon their English grades (AP, IB, O level, A-level, GCSE, American Curriculum) and their Critical Reading and Writing SAT and/or ACT scores (if submitted).
