About the course
The Bachelor of Music in Music Education provides preparation for Music Teacher Certification and graduate study. Students earning this degree are preparing for careers as public/private school teachers, private studio teachers, and/or pursuing additional study at the graduate level. The Department of Music promotes the study and experience of music in its broadest sense: preparing artist teachers and performers, enhancing creativity and the human spirit, and enriching the quality of life on campus, in the region, and in our global community. We offer a broad range of music degrees, ensembles, community programs, and activities that exemplify musical diversity and the development of artistic excellence. Our department strives to engage music majors, minors, general students, community members, patrons, and audiences with a love and passion for creativity, expression, and performance through the fine art of making music. The WKU music faculty believe that music is an essential part of life. They engage in superior solo and ensemble performances and are committed to taking students to the highest level of musicianship and citizenship. How to apply
Entry requirements for Western Kentucky University
Students must meet ONE of the following requirements for admission: ACT composite of 20 or greater, or SAT combined score of 1020 or greater (940 or greater combined score accepted for tests taken prior to March, 2016)*, or Unweighted high school GPA of 2.50 or higher, or Achieve the required Composite Admission Index (CAI) score. IELTS - 6.0 or higher, TOEFL (Paper Based) – 525, TOEFL (TIBT) - 71 or higher.
