About the course
This degree, designed for high-achieving secondary school leavers, provides the opportunity for you to progress directly into our Doctor of Medicine (5099). In your first year, you will be introduced to the basic sciences underpinning medical science - anatomy, chemistry, biochemistry, genes and disease, law and ethics, microbiology, physiology, and epidemiology. You will also undertake a course in interpersonal skills which provides you with knowledge and skills in communication and interaction with patients. In second year, you will study these areas in greater depth and take medically focused courses in immunology, infectious disease, pharmacology, metabolism, structural biochemistry, and molecular genetics, as well as undertaking a capstone course (Integrated Medical Sciences) which integrates and applies the knowledge of basic sciences learned in your first and second years to solving clinical problems.
If you progress to the Doctor of Medicine, you will be preparing for a career in specialist clinical practice, primary care medicine, biomedical research and healthcare services. Scholarships - View all scholarships Internships

Entry requirements for Griffith University
Standard academic entry to our undergraduate degrees requires completion of secondary school comparable to Australian Year 12 or equivalent academic achievement.
International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma - Successful completion with minimum aggregate score of 26
A minimum overall band score of 7.0 on IELTS (Academic) with no sub-score of less than 6.5
OR a minimum score of 580 on TOEFL
OR an internet-based (iBT) TOEFL score of 92 (no score less than 22)
