You will select two concentrations (from humanities, social sciences and interdisciplinary disciplines) and take a minimum of six courses in each concentration. Sample concentrations include theatre arts, legal studies and economics (see Approved Concentrations below for a complete list).
You will also choose courses to meet the Interdisciplinary Focus requirement, which ties everything together. Most students take Foundations in Liberal Studies in their sophomore year and Capstone in Liberal Studies in their senior year.
In the Bachelor of Liberal Arts (BLA) Studio Art concentration, students develop cognitive and intellectual skills, critical analysis and sociocultural perspectives that combine with other areas of study. Contemporary artistic research and practice are broadly engaged in dialogues with other intellectual fields and interdisciplinary practices. Today’s artists combine painting, video, sculpture, performance, animation and Virtual Reality. The BLA concentration in Studio Art will prepare students for a variety of interdisciplinary studies, including art therapy and art education. Reflecting today’s radical transformations in visual culture and communication, this concentration embraces trans-disciplinary learning. Scholarships - View all scholarships Internships
