About the course

Simply put, graphic designers give meaningful visual form to content in all media: from print to screen, business cards to billboards, computer interfaces to movie screens. But the most critical skill graphic designers offer is their unique ability to communicate specific messages through the artful manipulation of typography and images, systems and structures. Their work promotes, educates, directs, informs, exposes, clarifies, beautifies and delights. The Graphic Design department at the College of Design is nationally recognized for the quality of its program, the contributions of its faculty and the capabilities of its graduates. Students begin study in the discipline in the freshman year, and matriculate through a series of core, topic, and focus studios. The unique ?in-residence? classroom structure grounds an open culture of exchange that fosters creative responses to a range of topical design issues. How to apply

Entry requirements for North Carolina State University - Raleigh

We strongly suggest choosing a second choice major on your application, if applicable. Your second choice major cannot be another studio-based major.

　　Submit 10 portfolio images and Design Essay through Slideroom. Deadline is November 1. Guidelines can be found here.

　　Activate your personal wolfPAW account and complete the University required checklist.

　　Undergraduate Admissions reviews applicants ? for application essentials (SAT, ACT, credits, etc.) then sends a list of academically competitive students to the College of Design.

　　College of Design then reviews the academically competitive students? 10 piece portfolio and Design Essay.

　　Applicants continuing in the review process will be invited to Admissions Review Day or a Showcase in January.

　　Final admissions notifications will be sent early March.

　　IELTS Academic-6.5 or higher (minimum of 6.5 in each sub score)

　　TOEFL IBT-85 or higher (minimum of 18 in each sub score)

　　TOEFL Paper Based-563 or higher. PTE Academic-62 or higher (minimum of 53 in each sub score)

　　Freshman applicants should submit an official copy of Their high school transcript.
